Stroll Through the Sky by Frotu Stroll Through the Sky by Frotu
Ooo yeah, Frotu is sooooo original. There isn't anything lazy about how she titles her pictures, nope.

So I watched "Howl's Moving Castle" with my cousin while I was away, and was again reminded of how much I enjoy that movie. And again reminded that I didn't really approve of Sophie's dress at the end, seeing as how it was practically the same thing she had been wearing the whole time. XD Yey for being critical!

Aaah... it's so nice to be able to color things again.

Ooh, such pretty colors...
And thank you so much for including Howl's necklace and earrings, I was so sad that he wasn't wearing them in that final scene. They're just...so him. :D

Thank you! Haha, of course I included the necklace and earrings... they are important parts of his ~image~. I agree that it's quite sad that they weren't there in the final scene *siiiigh*

And he's clearly worked so darn hard on his image, it's a crime to take away one of the key components. XD
The only problem with the earrings is that it's pretty much physically impossible to make earrings that sparkle and swing as awesomely as his do, so us non-animated people can't have them. :crying:

good that you redressed her! Although it would have been too much a change for the end of the movie. This picture seems to be some time after the ending, and so it's perfectly fitting. It looks like out of a sequel *_* That would be fun! I love the Moving Castle too!
I like how Sophie looks at him, her face. So strong and trustful, not the little mouse she had been. That makes me happy. Still your faces look all too alike.^^; but thats all.

Oh, I dunno... she had worn green and blue, so yellow really was a bit of a surprise. But I suppose it did fit, in a way... at least where the mood was concerned. :)

Well, teeeechnically there is a sequel. But that is with the books, and those are actually quite a bit different from the movie. So I don't know if that would even count, really.

Haha, well I'm sorry that the faces all look too alike. If there was a way to change that without changing my style, I would probably do it. But I do not think that one can happen without the other as well, so I doubt that it will change. >__>

Ah, I know that the story was taken from a novel. So there is a written sequel? I have always wanted to read the story, but... I forget how the author was called. xD A woman it was.
:giggle: Try out to make a different face. That would be interesting to see.

There is a sequel.... but it is a little strange. Not a traditional sequel -- the plot is about other characters, and Howl and Sophie just happen to play roles in it. I'm not sure about how much I liked it. :/

Hehe, and if I wasn't so lazy, perhaps I would. Unfortunately, it's seemed like I haven't had time to even try drawing lately, so when I do have time... I will try to make it as easy and straightforward for myself as possible. :D

ok, so you do pictures to relax, like me.^^ That's fine. Never mind, and try something different if you feel like it.

Haha yes.... there is enough stress in my life without me making art stressful, too. That is one reason I refuse to take an art class at school. Art takes me less time than writing, so it is good for instant stress relief. *nod*

I really love the way you've drawn the characters! I'm torn on the color scheme because I really love blue/white but I think it's just a little too much for my tastes. Still very lovely though, good work!

Well, if I at least get a point for the way they were drawn, I'll take that as counting for something. I'm sorry that you don't quite like the color scheme, however. That was a large part of what I wanted to do (I planned on something near monochromatic), so it's unfortunate that you don't like it. ... I'm still glad you like how they were drawn, though. :)

again, you always use such soft colors, it makes the picture look feathery. I love it!

Ooo you definitely should. It's quite enjoyable. :)

I'm glad you like the colors! I was wondering if it would work this way, or if this was just too much blue (thus the addition of some yellow in the clouds), but I'm glad it all turned out!

Thank you! I'm happy to hear that I captured it well (since it's always scary drawing characters your own way for the first time) and that you like it. :)

oh yer welcome. I think that you doa great job in yer art and so what if you do a version in yer own that is what makes your art your own, Which ithink is the most beautifullest thing in the world Cause i am so sick of seeing people copying a picture so exact that it alm,ost looks like they traced it you know what i mean? So when someone like you does a wonderful job of A favorite movie of mine in tehir own style i really appreciate that. So good On you! hehe Loved it and keep drawing

Well I'm glad that you appreciate that I try to represent the characters with my own style... it's been really hard for me to get to a point where I feel comfortable doing so. I was very lost in my artistic identity, but I think I'm starting to figure out how my stuff works now. It's so nice to know that other people like the way I'm doing my art!

Well... I have a pretty good self identity, but it can be rather hard to get an artistic identity. A lot of people have very clear and recognizable styles, and it's important to have some aspect that is unique in your own work. So that's kind of what I'm working on, and why I experiment with a number of different drawing and coloring techniques. In any case, it's really nice to try different things. That's the only way to be able to say "oh yeaaaah, I don't like this at all" or to find something that is really fun. :)

I knooow! I love all the details in the background (which is actually one of the things I love about Avatar, too)... there is just so much attention to every shot and scene. It's amazing. And oo boy yes, the music is lovely.

Yes, no Avatar art yet... but maybe in a week or so. Gotta get through all this old stuff first. ;)

I agree completely the surroundings and background were just beautiful. Absolutely. And as you said the same is with The Avatar.

Well, as long as there will be future Avatar art, I am quite content with that. And I look forward to your other work.:)

Man... I've read the book, and now I need to watch the movie. The woman who writes those books is AMAZING! Try Dark Lord of Derkholm I think that's how it's spelled. It has a pretty good sequel to it to, the Year of the Griffin.

Haha, well, be ready for the movie to be significantly different from the book. I saw the movie first and then read the book, and there was a lot of "...wtf, this is like... way not the same. O___o" But I still quite enjoyed them both, in their own ways. ^^

I think I read another book by her... Fire and Hemlock? Something like that. I guess I have that to thank for introducing me to the myths that are allowing me to fix the plot in one of my stories, hurray!
